Time Out Of Mind

The last 2 weeks I have written or started 5 new songs. Didn’t do it on purpose – just doing the sit down, play around with alternate tunings, and flow of creativity kind of thing.

Here’s the lyrics to a new song I wrote in the last few days. It’s kind of a Pop Rockish power ballad. This is after the first edit. Will probably do a 2nd edit to tighten up the assonance and lyrical meter – as some consonants and vowels seem in sync, but when sung don’t always flow as good as they might, etc.

Time Out Of Mind

Like a secret Joan of Arc
pulling daggers from the start
skipped the head went to the heart
catching souls on fire

If I was Michael Angelo
painting Sistines in my show
the anatomy of how this goes
would leave the crowd awe …

inspired , desired, tired
of taking no for
an answer, romancer, chancer,
the muse is here
upon you
don’t let it pawn you

When the world is running out of time
and everyone is stumbling half blind
someday you’ll wake up and you’ll find
this love was, time out of mind

If you’re still seeking for a sign
the answer to the grand design,
someday you’ll wake up and you’ll find
this love was, time out of mind

time out of mind

Cosmic light across the room,
a billion years that came too soon,
and like them I would crash into,
you to find my future

But now the futures looking bright
Because I am here with you tonight
And I’ll put up a good fight,
just to tell you that I feel…

inspired , desired, tired
of taking no for
an answer, romancer, chancer,
the muse is here
upon you
don’t let it pawn you

When the world is running out of time
and everyone is stumbling half blind
someday you’ll wake up and you’ll find
this love was, time out of mind

If you’re still seeking for a sign
the answer to the grand design,
someday you’ll wake up and you’ll find
this love was, time out of mind
time out of mind

Ship Of Skies project treads clear waters

I’ve been working a little on the upcoming video game project for Ipod and iTunes apps, called Ship Of Skies, which I have been invited to write for.

I am specifically writing music for the gameplay, and also the story and character dialogue. The storyline and character development is pretty much set, and now I am beginning to flush out the story script. The story will also simealtaneously
be written as a book, geared towards the young reader and adult audience.

Time frame for this will be a year or more on the book, and 1-2 years on the video game release.
